Boat builders will tell you that the first step in building a boat is to construct a scale model of the boat you are intending to build. Using a Architectural ruler and some Balsa wood John transferred the measurements from the plans to the balsa. The scale John used for the model is 1-1/2" = 1.0' Assembling the model would be the same approach except John uses pins and glue instead of nails and epoxy. As you can see a mini woodworking clamp comes in handy as well. Now is a good time to decide what you are going to do with the interior of the boat. At this point they are going to stay close to the plans. And are considering adding a center console at a later date. A little bit of paint and our Model is Finished.
